Most people can have a harmless build-up of stains on their teeth caused by food, drink and other habits (e.g. smoking or vaping).

After a visit with an Oral Hygienist, your teeth will not just feel smoother, but you will also have brighter teeth and, ultimately, a more confident smile.

Bacteria, which causes bad breath and gum disease, will be removed by cleaning in-between the teeth and in the hard-to-reach areas.

Hard tartar deposits will be removed to keep gums healthy, preventing or controlling gum disease, which can lead to tooth loss if not addressed.

The Hygienist will provide individually tailored advice to help you improve your mouth health at home between visits. This will reduce the risk of tooth decay and gum disease.

Gum disease is normally caused by harmful bacteria in dental plaque. Bleeding gums can be a sign of gum disease, along with redness and soreness. Gum disease can cause destruction of the bone around the teeth, which will lead to gaps between the teeth and gum recession. Gum disease is the main reason for loose teeth and tooth loss.

The most important factor in successfully preventing and treating gum disease is the effort you put in at home! Our Hygienists will work with you to find the best products and techniques just for you and provide ongoing advice and motivation.

Direct Access Hygienist Service allows you to see one of our Oral Hygienists even if you are not a registered patient at Barnfield Dental Studio.
